Perks+ Bay Club (formerly PRO Club)

To help support your wellbeing in a way that's convenient and relevant for you, the Perks+ Program provides you with the Bay Club option (with this option, Microsoft pays for a portion of your membership, minus an employee cost share). You can elect the Bay Club option when you’re hired or during yearly Open Enrollment. Note: After you make your election, you won’t be able to change it until the next Open Enrollment.

Employees living in Washington State have the option of electing Bay Club membership.

 

All corporate U.S. benefits-eligible Microsoft employees, interns, and visiting researchers who reside in Washington state are eligible for the Perks+ Bay Club gym membership option. If your spouse or domestic partner is also a Microsoft employee, you're both eligible to participate. Spouses and domestic partners who are not Microsoft employees are ineligible for the Perks+ Bay Club gym membership option. 

Note: Retail employees are not eligible for the Bay Club option but are eligible for Perks+ reimbursement. 

 

We are committed to equalizing as much as possible our investment across the Perks+ benefit choices for all US employees. For 2026, Microsoft will pay an annual amount of $1,715.72 towards your Bay Club membership. Your responsibility will be a $67 per month cost share. The full value of the annual membership is $2,514.25 ($1,715.72 paid by Microsoft plus $798.54 paid by you). You'll pay imputed income tax on the value of the Microsoft paid portion of your Bay Club membership, reflected in your paycheck. Assuming a 22 percent supplemental tax rate, $377.46 is the amount of tax you'd pay annually.

Specific features of the Bay Club membership include:

 

  • NEW FOR 2025/2026 - Membership now includes access to 11 locations with Bay Club expecting additional locations in 2026.

    • Harbor Square Athletic Club
    • 425 Fitness Bothell
    • 425 Fitness Redmond
    • 425 Fitness Issaquah
    • Arena Fitness Issaquah
    • Arena Magnuson
    • Arena Mill Creek
    • Arena Redmond
    • Arena Sodo
    • Tennis Center Sand Point* (dependent on membership type)
  • Microsoft employees have access to the following amenities across the 11 locations: 400 weekly group fitness classes, 7 indoor pools, 10 Squash Courts, 6 indoor Pickleball courts, 5 indoor soccer fields, 14 hot tubs, Saunas in each of the clubs and 5 steam rooms. Recovery and complimentary coffee at every club daily until 11 am.
  • Microsoft Employees receive primary membership with Bay Club Bellevue (formerly PRO Club Bellevue).
  • Microsoft pays the primary membership dues (minus the employee cost share which is deducted directly from payroll), and the initiation fee is waived for access to all 12 locations in the greater Seattle areas for the calendar year.
  • Employees can add additional members on to their membership and are responsible for their monthly membership dues. The initiation fee is waived for add on members during the first month of membership. Current rates and membership options are found in the "How it works" tab.

After you've elected Bay Club in the benefits enrollment tool, Bay Club will be notified. You will then receive an email from Bay Club with instructions to set up your membership. Once set up, you'll be ready to start using the clubs right away.

You can also schedule video, phone, or in-person meetings with the Bay Club team across the 12 locations to help answer any enrollment-related questions you may have.

 

Note: If you're already an existing member on a self-pay basis, please cancel that membership before starting a Bay Club membership. Contact Bay Club to make this change by stopping by the club or emailing MembershipBellevue@bayclubs.com. 

Shared Membership-Add-Ons

Bay Club memberships are now a Shared Membership – a flexible and inclusive membership that stretches beyond the typical traditional constraints of membership. How it works: 

 

  • A Shared Membership consists of one Primary member and up to nine (9) additional Add-On members. 
  • The Primary member takes all financial responsibility of the membership. 
  • The Primary member can add anyone they’d like to the membership – not just family living in the same household. There is a $50 processing fee each time you add a member to your Shared Membership. The $50 processing fee is waived in January for employees electing as part of Open Enrollment or in the employee's first month of membership if electing as a new employee.  
  • The Primary member can add and remove members at any time via Bay Club’s Connect App. A member must be removed with a calendar month's notice.

Taxes 

All Perks+ benefit options (Perks+ and Bay Club) are subject to imputed income tax, as defined by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This means that Microsoft pays the monthly Bay Club membership dues and you pay taxes on those dues. To comply with IRS requirements, Microsoft annually reviews and adjusts the fair market value of club memberships. The imputed income is adjusted according to the most recent valuation. Because of this, you will see the value of the Microsoft funded portion of your Bay Club membership added to your paycheck as taxable earnings and you will pay taxes on that amount. To learn more, see the Tax Info tab on the Plan Documents & Tax Info page.

You can elect the Bay Club option when you’re hired or during yearly Open Enrollment. If you enroll during Open Enrollment, your Bay Club membership is active January 1. For new hires, your membership is active from your election date. All memberships are effective through December 31.
